The Magic Flute at Stalin's

This was the first realisation of an open-air opera performance from the workshops of RUN OPERUN. The performance took place on the site where the infamous Stalin's monument was formerly located and was received by more than 2000 spectators.

The performance consisted of musical pieces from a shortened version of Mozart’s Magic Flute and the scenographic background consisted of a giant Metronome and the remnants of Stalin’s monument. RunOperun’s rendition of the Magic Flute takes place in today’s era which is filled with social media, first loves and conflicts between parents and children.

The premises of the former monument are managed by the company Containall, which has been organising cultural events on the site under the auspices of the City District - Prague 7.
